Sleepy girl...... yawn

Our kids can find some of the craziest places to fall asleep. I think Alissa is by far the funniest. I went upstairs yesterday to get Alexus and Shelby up for school and this is how I found Alissa. She was inside a storage container we use to hold toys with the mattress from Ashleigh's old crib. I can't imagine how she was comfortable enough to sleep much less rest. milsig

more purses...

I have been working on a few purses the last few days. I got Jamie's and Lona's made. I have one to make for the Capt. that Andy works with. She wants one made for her mom that is retired. I sure do hope they like them. Now I need to get the things made for the other Christmas presents I need to get made. milsig

Science Fair Projects

Andy and I took the girls to school this morning because they had to take their science fair projects in. I hope they do good with their presentations. Shelby was nervous about doing the one for her class. Alexus was so excited. I just hope she slows down and thinks before she talks about it since there was so much information. I know they will do great, but I know they were nervous. Shelby made a solar still which makes salt water into drinking water, and Alexus did hers on how an airplane flies. Here are their display boards.

Halloween Goodies and Goblins

The girls had so much fun visiting with my mom and dad this last week. They came to town for Alexus's birthday. She was upset when they had to leave, but she knew dad had a job to get to. Dad and Andy helped them carve their pumpkins. Alexus and Shelby made crazy faces, Alissa made an owl, and Ashleigh made a cat. Our pumpkins looked really sad by Halloween, but oh well they got to do them with my dad! My dad also got to go to their awards ceremony for their first nine weeks. It was the first time my dad could be in town to go to a school function. Last night we took them around the neighborhood trick-or-treating. They all got a full bucket of goodies! Ashleigh didn't walk all the way, but she did walk about half of it. Her foot started to hurt from walking on it so much. I hope everyone had a great Halloween! I know the girls did. I didn't feel very well, and woke up from my nap just in time to get ready to take them trick-or-treating.

Our crazy weekend

Friday night Ashleigh cut her foot really bad on a can lid. She had to get 3 inner stitches and 16 outer ones. I could not believe it, but she took the numbing shots and the stitches without having to be put to sleep. It broke my heart. I started to cry with her when I heard her beg for the doctor to please stop giving her so mant shots. It was the numbing shot. The needle was about 4-6inches, and he had to go deep in her foot to make sure he got her good and numb. The doctor that did her stitches was good with her. She tried keeping her occupied, and her mind off her putting the stitches in. We couldn't believe it when they sent us home with just ibuprofen and tylenol though and no pain medicine or antibiotic. She slept pretty good Sat. morning when we got home, and was good that day, but Sat. night she did NOT sleep at all. She was in so much pain that she just screamed all night. Sunday morning I took her back to the emergency room and the doctor on duty gave her Lortab for pain and Keflex (antibiotic). Her little wound was a little red and she didn't want to take a chance of it turning into an infection. She has been feeling much better since she has been on these medicines. It has been a little swollen, but not very much. I wish I could take this pain away. She is just too little to have to go through anything like this. milsig

10yr reunion

Ok, I must be getting old because next weekend is my 10yr reunion. It seems like just yesterday I was going to Andy's games with his mom and dad. It definately doesn't feel like I should be going to my 10yr reunion. I made the girls some mums to wear, and I think they turned out pretty cute. Here is a picture of them.milsig

First School Week

A picture of the girls waiting on the bus. They look so grown up!

The girls had a good first week of school. Shelby has really liked her teacher so far. She told them she had the best 2nd grade class in the whole school and so that got Shelby all excited. Alexus on the other hand is having to get used to her teacher. She didn't really like her at first, but has gotten to where she does. All Alexus can think about is the spelling bee, science fair and all those cool things. I am glad they like to get involved. I almost wanted to cry the other day when I got to thinking about how many years of elementary school they have left. My babies only have 2 and 3yrs. Ashleigh and Alissa will be in school before I know it and then I will be back in school! I don't know if I am ready for all my babies to be in school. They are growing up too fast.milsig

Alexus's purses

Shelby's purse

I made Alexus and Shelby a purse today and I think they turned out so cute. I made the changes I wanted to make to the inside so it doesn't show all the frayed adges. I also used a top to make theirs. Here are a few pictures of them.milsig

My New Purse

I have been wanting a purse for a long time and decided to make one myself. I went and got me a sewing machine, a pattern, and some material and zazammm I got it done tonight. I did find a few things that I will change on the next purse I make, but I have to say I am pretty proud of it. It is made out of Andy's old uniform. The picture of the bow with the brown ribbon is the final product. I added some brown to it cause Andy didn't really care for my pretty butterfly ribbon. hehe That is ok cause I like it better with the brown. milsig

Week of Silence

My kiddos are with my mom and dad for a week so they can visit family back home. When I called mom to tell her we had made it back to San Antonio she informed me that Alexus and Shelby ran into a bullnettle (spelling). She gave them both a benadryl and a bath. She said that they are all better today. Thank goodness because those things hurt. I could not believe that Ashleigh and Alissa did so well. Alissa didn't cry til it was time for bed, and Ashleigh hasn't cried so far. They are such big girls. Andy and I enjoyed the quietness today. We could actually watch T.V. without it being so high to drown out the girls playing. I am already missing them! but I know thay are in good hands.
On another note, Michelle told us that Hunter is doing really good at band camp this year. He got in the 2nd drum line! His first year she said he was in the 6th, then his second year he was in the 4th and then 2nd this year. He has worked so hard to get to where he is. We are so proud of you Hunter!milsig

Fourth of July

Andy with his first fish caught out of the boat. A Stripper and a Catfish.

Alexus fishing and enjoying her 4th of July weekend.
Shelby taking a break from fishing.
Alissa was wanting to help everyone reel in their rods.
Ashleigh was having so much fun!

Our weekend was full of fishing and riding in the boat. Andy would wake up at like 4:30 and would start getting the boat and poles ready. He couldn't wait for me and the girls to wake up at 9:00 to go so we would meet him at the lake. Saturday we went to Braunig, Sunday Andy went to Braunig, and Monday we went to Caleveras. The girls wanted to go Sunday and I was going to take them but as we were getting ready to go Andy walked in the door. The girls really love going fishing, but I think we ruined/spoiled them by taking them to those pay as you go ponds cause Ashleigh and Shelby kept asking us when they were going to get a fish and we had to explain to them that lakes are way bigger than the ponds and that there is a lot more places for the fish to go so we had to find them. The poor girls didn't catch anything. The wind was way too strong on Sat. and on Mon. they weren't biting. Oh well, we got to ride in the boat for a bit and just enjoy it. As we were taking a joy ride Mon. the boat suddenly stalled and wouldn't idle down. We couldn't tell what was wrong, but when we got it loaded on the trailer Andy took a look at it and saw that one of the spark plug wires had come off. All we were thinking about was having to pay someone to work on it and how much money it was going to cost, Thank goodness it was just a spark plug wire! Unfortunately for me I was the only one that got sunburned! Andy has been giving me hell for it, but he will get a sunburn someday and when he does I will give him heck back. Alexus is getting so dark! It is hard to believe how dark she is getting. Shelby and Alissa just got a lil tan. Andy told Ashleigh she was just a lil whitey. She told him nuuh. When I asked her what color she was she told me she was Peach and not white. She is so funny! I hope you all had wonderful time celebrating the birth of our country. I know we sure did have a wonderful weekend. milsig

The girls got to go for their second boat ride today and they had a BLAST! All you could hear was them screaming for Andy to go faster even though he was already going as fast as he could. They got so upset when they didn't get to stay out as long as they wanted. It was starting to lightning in the distance and we didn't want to take a chance. Oh well, we will have plenty of time to play in the water! While we were there we replaced the boards on the trailer and that was a job since the brackets were bent. Here is a picture of Andy and the girls in the boat getting ready to go for a ride.
