No fever!

As of this morning neither of the girls have had fever. I am hoping this means they are getting over what they had. Hopefully this means we will be able to leave in time for the holidays. /crosses my fingers.

1st place

That is right! Alexus got 1st place in the Spelling Bee today. She will be moving on to the District Spelling Bee in mid Jan. Means a lot of studying over the holidays! We are so proud of her she is really doing good in school this year. Her goal was to get 1st place at the school one so I asked her what her goal was for district, and she said 1st! Wish her LUCK!

Update

I had to take Alissa ans Ashleigh to the doctor yesterday. Alissa has bulging ear infections. We knew she had double infections, but we didn't know they were as bad as they were. He took her off Amoxicillin and put her on Omnicef cause he said with as bad as they are the Amoxicillin would probably not work. I rather know that the medicine she takes is going to work and not have to worry about her feeling so icky. While we were there he gave her a shot of anti-biotics. When she woke up early this morning she wasn't hot. Yay! So we will see how she feels in a bit. When he was checking Ashleigh out he said that her ears were clear, and that her throat was a lil pink, but that was it. There was no clear signs of what was making her feel so sick. He did a strep throat test, but he doesn't think it is it, but wanted to make sure. He told me to continue her on Tylenol, and Motrin, rotating them. I hope she starts feeling better cause all they have wanted to do is lay around and sleep or cry.
Oh btw, Alexus has her Spelling Bee today so please pray that she does good. She is so determined to make it to district this year, and she wants to do better than she did last year. She is such a focused little girl, and loves to read and spell. I will let you all know how she does. milsig

No Sleep

No sleep is really starting to get to me. I had to take Alissa to the emergency room the other night cause she wouldn't eat, drink or anything and had a high temp. I didn't get home til a lil after 3am. They said she had double ear infections. When I got home Andy told me that Ashleigh had a high temp now too. When Ashleigh is not feeling well she doen't sleep well. She wakes up crying and yelling. I am taking Ashleigh to the doctor today cause we can't get her temp down. She is eating and drinking atleast. Alissa is going in at the same time cause her temp is still too high. They both have been at 101 under their arms so after you add the degree to it they are really at 102. :( I hate when the kids are suck cause you don't know what to do for them. I wish I had a wand I could wave and it all be gone, but as we all know I am not a witch. hehe Please pray that they start feeling better cause we are supposed to leave this weekend for Christmas. milsig

Can't win for loosing:(

Well, I had to take Alissa to the hospital last night. She had a temp yesterday, and we couldn't get rid of it, and she refused to eat or drink. They told me she has double ear infections. Shelby just finished her medication for hers and now poor Alissa has them. Noone is feeling well in our house. I am wore out. I wish there was a magic wand I could use to get them to feeling well.milsig

Ear Infection

Shelby has an ear infection. While we were at her appointment today they all got their H1N1 mist/shots and their regular flu shots. Hopefully they don't get sick cause that would make a really bad weekend for Andy. I have to work so he would be here by himself with sick kids. They didn't get sick from the flu shots last year, but Alexus, Shelby and Ashleigh all got the nasal mist :( which is a live virus. Wish us luck, we may need it. milsig

Ears

Looks like I will be taking Shelby to the doctor. She told us the other day that her ear was hurting, but she told us the next day that they were no longer hurting so I just figured she slept on it wrong. This morning she work up with puss coming out of her ears. I just hope her tubes are still in place and that they don't need replcing again. Please pray that they are fine. milsig

Andy's Memaw is doing a lot better today. They did surgery this morning and put in 2 stints. She had 95% blockage on one side and 85% on the other. Thanks for all the prayers!milsig

Sunday, November 29, 2009

Please pray for Andy's Memaw! We got a call from my mother in law tonight and she is in the hospital. They think she may have had a heart attack. They are going to do surgery in the morning to see if she needs stints or something else. She has been really frail for a while, and they don't think she would make it through a major heart surgery. All prayers are appreciated. Thanks All! milsig

This is the icecream pie I made this year. It was YUMMY! Andy's coconut cream pie!

Deviled eggs...

Ham and turkey...

All the fixings...

I want to say thanks for all our loving family, and friends. Hope you all have a wonderful day. We love and miss you all so much. Here are a few pictures of our feast. I say feast cause we definately cooked way too much for 6 people. Andy and I tried a few new things this year and I think some of it may become traditions. milsig

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you all have a great one. Andy and I started on our cooking tonight. He made a coconut cream pie, and I made an ice cream pie. Looks so yummy. We wanted to try some different desserts this year. I am going to start my turkey tonight before I go to bed. Maybe I will remember to take some pictures of our spread tomorrow. hehemilsig

Update on Kids and Andy

I walked in the door today after I got off work, and Alexus ran up to me holding her Spelling Bee papers. She is wanting to be prepared. Lol She is so excited about it. She did really good last year so I told her she could compete again this year. Last year she was nervous, but I think she will be more prepared and won't worry so much. I think that is what got to her last year. She isn't used to being in large crowds. We did letter A and B today and she has problems with 3 A words, and about 15 B words. That isn't bad considering there is about 20 or so A words, and about 80 B words.

Shelby can't stop talking about the district science fair and how she gets to go to a different school again for a day. Hopefully her daddy can go to the awards ceremony for me cause I have to work that day, and I want someone to be there for her. I know she will do good when they ask her the questions cause omg that girl loves to talk. I don't know how they keep her quiet at school cause lord knows she is SO loud at home.

Andy is feeling a lot better, but his head still hurts. He is going back to work in the morning for his weekend duty. He is still on light duty for a few more days and hopefully he doesn't get to doing too much at work and start feeling light headed. He has done better than I thought he would. He did take a few days off work so he could lay around and rest. They didn't want him going up and down stairs for a week so he wouldn't loose his footing and fall and get hurt again. You all know how hard headed he can be. So for him to follow those directions is good for him!

Hope you all had a great Friday the 13th! Enjoy the weekend and we love and miss you all.

Concussion

Andy made it home a lil early yesterday, but he had to go to the hospital. Before they left yesterday a man fell from the plane, and Andy ran and jumped in the doorway and blocked him so he would only fall about 15feet instead of 30feet. While Andy was stopping him he got hit in the head by the guys steel toe boot. He has a nice lil knot on the side of his head, and a bad headache but he will be ok. They did some test on him and told him he has a concussion. I am just glad everyone is ok and made it back home to their families. Hope you all gave a great weekend, and enjoy your families. :)

Andy

Andy will be home tomorrow night. He was supposed to be home tonight, but they were delayed a day :( I sure am ready to see him! The girls have their science fair tomorrow so I think I will go see it. They have to do a presentation and all that too. I hope they do a good job. They worked so hard on them. Alexus even typed her own stuff out this year. Her teacher let her use the computer at school since she always finishes her work before the others. I had to type out Shelby's cause I had to go to the public library. Alexus did a compressed air experament. She did a 2liter bottle with a balloon over the top, and then a 2liter bottle with a hole in the bottom and another balloon in that one. One will blow up and one won't.
Shelby did a balloon powered car made from a buttermilk carton, straws (axles), and buttons for wheels.

I will let you all know how they do tomorrow!

Busy weekend

This weekend has been so busy. Yesterday I made the girls their Veterans Day pictures for their display at school. They both have a picture of their Daddy and their Grandad on it. They are so proud that they have a picture of him on there. We also had to go to the public library to type up Shelby's science fair project papers, and to print them out since I couldn't find my power supply for my printer. :( Alexus typed hers out at school and her teacher printed them out for her. I took some pictures of their projects yesterday, but had to get them developed today at Wal-Mart. I let Andy take our digital camara so I had to get a disposable camara. We have them all put together and ready to take to school on Monday. Their science fair is Tuesday. Hopefully they will do well. They picked out their project about a month ago. We had some other ones picked out but they changed their minds. The rest of this weekend I have got to pick up the house, and get ready for Andy to be home Monday. I know our kids are looking forward to him getting home. Shelby started crying the other day at school, and the teacher and her assistant had to calm her down. She is better but she did get upset today while we were out.

Well, hope you all have a great weekend, and we will let you all know when Andy makes it in.

Shelby

Shelby made All A Honor roll. Yay, but I did find out that she has been turning in half completed work. :( Her teacher makes her take it back and finish it. I sure hope she straightens her act up. I do not see how she made all a's. must be cause her teacher makes her do it over.

Report cards

I went to the school and got Alexus's report card today. She got all A's! Her teacher is so sweet. She has gotten all the kids birthday presents. She got Alexus a bag, journal, a storage box she gets to decorate, and some pencils. Alexus didn't get to get it til today cause her school waited til yesterday afternoon to do their announcements, and so she had to go get her self manager's badge. Both of the girls are doing it again this year. They are doing a lot more rewards this year for the self managers.

We are going to be busy, busy, busy this weekend. Their science fair projects are due in about 2 weeks, and they still have not sent in the papers telling us what all we need to do for it. Last year it took me and the girls about 3weeks to get both of them done so we will see if we can get them done.....

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you all her grades...
Language Arts:100
Reading:97
Math:95
Science:97
Social studies:99
PE:E
Music:S

I have to go pick Shelby's up on Friday so hopefully her p/t meeting goes as good as Lexi's did. /crosses fingers.

Here are a few pictures of Landon, my new nephew. Hope you all enjoy them as much as I do.

Bow, headbands, etc.

The other day my sisters friend asked her if I would make her some headbands for her baby so of course I said yes. I have been making them for the girls off and on as a hobby. I normally make the girls clips. For halloween I made them all headbands. I will have to get some pictures of them today after I get home from work. Here are the pictures of the ones I made for her friend.

The princess one is our favorite. Well, hope you all have a great weekend.

Landon

I am happy to say that Bubba got to see Landon Saturday for 3hrs. Mom took some pictures so I will post some as soon as I have them. I cannot wait to see my nephew and give him a great big hug. Bubba gets to see him three hours every Saturday for two months. After that he will get to see him on Wednesday's and every other weekend I believe is what he said.

I hope I get to meet him soon. I got to see a picture when he was first born and that is it!

Hope everyone is having a great week. We love and miss you all.

The results are in...

I am an aunt again! My brother called me yesterday and told me the results were in to the paternity test. He is a Father. My new nephew is named Landon Ray! He is about 8months old already :( He has missed so much, but he will be able to have something to do with him from now on. That is ALL that matters.

Yay! We have a new nephew!

Military Spouse website

The other day I was working the front cash register at work when I saw a ladies purse. It was made out of her husbands uniform he wore while he was deployed to Iraq. I LOVED it. I wanted to get one made with Andy's old uniform that he no longer wears. I think I may try and figure out how to make them on my own, and make some for the girls Christmas. I think they would love them to. Call me crazy but I want to show my support for my hero any way I can, and I think that reusing his uniform to make something that everyone can see would be great.

If you all would like to look at the site it is: http://www.heroonmyarm.com

First day of school

Today was the girls first day of school. I took them in and was going to help them find their classes, but it took me 45min to get into the building. They were running everyones id's through the computer which they normally don't do the first day. Ashleigh went with Alexus and Shelby to the cafeteria and ate breakfast with them. They met me back in the office and by that time I was almost through the line. We got them settled in and I am glad that Shelby got Mrs. Fernandez, she is a really good teacher. Alexus got Huizar, a new teacher so we will see how it goes. She seemed really nice.

Here are a few pictures I took this morning.

Working

I know I haven't updated this in a while. The girls are getting ready to go back to school in a few weeks. I still have to go school supply shopping and school clothes shopping. I have a lot to do.

I started working, it is part time but I sure am tired. Who knew that going back to work after a lil over 8yrs would be SO tiring. I like it though. I am working on Fort Sam Houston at the Burger King. The people have been really nice and are working with me, and I am trying to get back in the swing of working.

Hope everyone is doing good. We miss and love you all.

Andy called me back and said he will be here at a lil after 8pm tomorrow. We are all so excited to see him, and for him to be home.

Yay

My husband is coming home!!! He just called me a few minutes ago and said they needed them back here so they are trying to get tickets right NOW. We can't wait to see you!

More of Andy's TDY

Andy is doing really well and he sent us some more picture tonight. All Ashleigh could say is "My Daddy is on the puter!" Alexus and Shelby were amazed with how big the Statue of Liberty is. He was glad they got to get out of the hotel, but he wasn't happy with the poison oak he got from Central Park. I will keep you all updated with how things are going for him. Right now they are thinking they are going to be later getting home than they expected. He may not get home til after the 4th of July. :( I hate this because we MISS him so much and are ready to see him. Well, hope you all are having a great week.
We love and miss you all.

This first picture was of him in Grand Central Station......

Of course this is of him with the Statue of Liberty.. So pretty...

Isn't she huge?! The girls were amazed at how small their daddy was compared to it. All Ashleigh could say was "My Daddy is so small!"

This is the castle that is in the middle of Central Park. Looks so pretty doesn't it?

Here he is on the side rail in front of the Hudson river. Such a pretty scene behind him.

And to end my post..... A picture of Andy well being Andy.... He said it looked like a HUGE toilet so why not get a funny picture....

Andy's Grandad

As many of you know Andy's Grandad passed away on Saturday night. His family night will be Thursday and the funeral will be Friday. He and Andy's Grannie were on the base in Montana as camp ground hosts. They loved to go there, and would stay there 6 months out of the year. He was in the Air Force for a lil over 20years, and was a great man. We will miss him so much. Alexus, Shelby, Ashleigh and Alissa loved their visits with their Grandad. He got Ashleigh to sit beside their dogs even though she has always been scared to death of dogs. Alexus and Shelby have always loved it when they got to come visit us because they would get to roam around their camper at the camp ground on base and Grandad would try to keep up with them. Alissa would just smile at him. She was still too small to go to him the last time she saw him. He got her to let him hold her for a couple minutes and he was thrilled as can be. Everytime I think of him I will remember how excited he was to see his family, and how much he loved everyone.
We love you Grandad and will miss you.

GT update....

Yeah I know what you all are thinking... Took long enough for you to find out, but we found out the other day that Alexus wasn't choosen for GT. When we got the results I was a bit upset because she is so smart and can do so many things that someone her age shouldn't be able to. She is reading at an average of 100 words a minute, takes a second grade reading class, does 2nd grade math work, and is always wanting to do more school work than they give her. She LOVES school. I called the number they gave me to find out why she wasn't choosen and when I did I actually got GREAT news. After the lady reviewed why she wasn't accepted she decided that she would partly put her in GT. There is a program they do here is San Antonio where if you excell in an area they will give you that part of the GT. So she will be getting the reading part of it and if her teacher thinks that she needs the math part next year they will re-evaluate her and see if they also think she is ready for it. If they do she will be all the way in. If she is still in it when she makes it to third grade they do a summer school for GT students.

Alexus is so hard on herself and was very upset when she found out she didn't get in, but when I gave her the good news yesterday she was ecstatic. Also she has made it through 2 school years with ALL A's.

A lil update on Shelby as well. She made it ALL the way through kindergarten with ALL A's. Her class is having an icecream sundae party next Friday, and of course she is SO looking forward to it. She is starting to read all by herself and isn't having to have near as much help. If she has to have help it is on some of the harder words. She HATES homework.... She didn't want to do her last homework assignment yesterday, which of course does not fly in this house. You WILL do your homework or get a butt busting hehe.

Well, I need to get ready to go to Alexus's awards ceremony. Love and miss everyone. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Andy TDY in NY

Well as everyone knows Andy is TDY in New York, and I thought I would share some pictures he sent to the girls and I. He took lots more than this but he sent us just a few so we could see him...

This first one is of him sitting at Paul Sr.'s desk....

The next one if of him with the FDNY bike.

The next one is of the PoW bike.

This last picture is something that Andy is really proud of. It is an autographed picture of Paul Sr., Paul Jr., and Mikey.

Field trips

Today the girls had their school field trips. Shelby went to see the new movie Earth, which she did not like. I figured she wouldn't like it. I myself don't like documantaries, and she doesn't have the attention span to watch a movie like that.

Alexus went to SeaWorld so I let Andy take our camera. I figured he would be able to get more pictures than I would at a movie. Alissa went with me and Ashleigh went with him. She had such a good time getting to feed all the animals with her big sis. To bad they both didn't get to go to the same place. I missed Ashleigh's first park visit. Atleast she had a great time with her daddy and her Lexus.

Andy took some really good pictures but some reason it won't load them. I will try again later tonight or tomorrow.

Tennis

On Sunday I took the girls over to the park and they got to play with their new tennis rackets. Of course I forgot my camera. Later Andy and I are going to take them on base and let them play on the tennis courts. They didn't have any at this park, but they didn't care. They just wanted to get out of the house for a bit. Andy and I had been talking about getting us all racket for a while but never went and got them. Well, I went and got them and the kids didn't want to wait another weekend to use them. This weekend my parents are going to try and come up, and you know the girls are going to want to show them their tennis skills hehe. My dad doesn't get much time off here lately, and so this will be a great break for him. NO STRESS. I will definately take some picture while my mom and dad are here and get them posted asap.

Here are a few more pictures we got made.

Spring Break visit back home

Just thought I would post the pictures my sister and I had made of all the kiddos while I went to visit her. After we visited her we went to Paris for a bit.

District Spelling Bee

Alexus had her District Spelling Bee yesterday, and she placed 20th out of 45. She did really well. She missed the word Eagle. She was so disappointed because she knows that word, but got nervous and reversed the e and l. She spelled it Eagel. I was so proud of her. There was only one of her classmates left after her. ALSO the other day her teacher nominated her for Gifted and Talented. At Sun Valley they normally don't do it til 2nd grade. She is already taking 2nd grade reading. She reads at 74 words a minute, and they want them at that level at the end of 2nd. She is taking after her Daddy because he is to smart for his own good at times.

Shelby says that school is boring and looses interest fast. I think she is going to be like Andy and Bubba were and always need something to keep her interest. She is VERY smart, but if she doesn't have anything to keep her busy she gets into trouble. So far she hasn't gotten into trouble at school. Which I don't know how because at home the girl is into EVERYTHING. Her teacher is a really good teaher, she makes them mind and if they don't she is doing what needs done to make sure they don't do it again.

Well just thought I would update you all on what has been going on here. We LOVE ans MISS you all very much and wish we were closer so we could spend more time together.

Christmas 08

This year we got to go to Fort Worth to see my Sister, Richard, Adrian and Jacob, and then to Kansas to see Larry, Tina, Dusty and Jordan. The girls had so much fun playing in the snow with their Poppie and Granny-T. Alexus tried to make a snowman but it didn't work so she made a snow blob. It had eyes, nose and a mouth made out of leaves. Christmas Day we took them to a park. We took a walk up to the top and got to look at the frozen lake. The scenery was so beautiful. They got to play in the snow again there. Ashleigh was having fun til she took a face plant in the road. Poor Alissa got to cold so we put her in the van while eveyone played in the snow for a few minutes. After we visited them we went to Paris where we got to see their Nanna, Papa, Uncle Bubba, Nana, Steven, Aunt Chelle, Uncle Rodney, Hunter, Haley, Carissa, Ryan, GeeGee, Grandad, GranGran, Papa Beshirs, and everyone else. We even got to see our friends JD, Adriane, and their three beautiful daughters. It has been a couple years since we have been able to visit with them. I will post some pictures as soon as possible. My camera quit working on me and so I didn't get to take any. I am going to see if my Father-in-law can send them to me.
