First School Week

The girls had a good first week of school. Shelby has really liked her teacher so far. She told them she had the best 2nd grade class in the whole school and so that got Shelby all excited. Alexus on the other hand is having to get used to her teacher. She didn't really like her at first, but has gotten to where she does. All Alexus can think about is the spelling bee, science fair and all those cool things. I am glad they like to get involved. I almost wanted to cry the other day when I got to thinking about how many years of elementary school they have left. My babies only have 2 and 3yrs. Ashleigh and Alissa will be in school before I know it and then I will be back in school! I don't know if I am ready for all my babies to be in school. They are growing up too fast.

I made Ashleigh and Alissa's purse different from mine and the girls. They turned out really cute. Ashleigh got made at me cause I wouldn't let her play with it yet. Here are their pictures.

I made Alexus and Shelby a purse today and I think they turned out so cute. I made the changes I wanted to make to the inside so it doesn't show all the frayed adges. I also used a top to make theirs. Here are a few pictures of them.

My New Purse

I have been wanting a purse for a long time and decided to make one myself. I went and got me a sewing machine, a pattern, and some material and zazammm I got it done tonight. I did find a few things that I will change on the next purse I make, but I have to say I am pretty proud of it. It is made out of Andy's old uniform. The picture of the bow with the brown ribbon is the final product. I added some brown to it cause Andy didn't really care for my pretty butterfly ribbon. hehe That is ok cause I like it better with the brown.

Week of Silence

My kiddos are with my mom and dad for a week so they can visit family back home. When I called mom to tell her we had made it back to San Antonio she informed me that Alexus and Shelby ran into a bullnettle (spelling). She gave them both a benadryl and a bath. She said that they are all better today. Thank goodness because those things hurt. I could not believe that Ashleigh and Alissa did so well. Alissa didn't cry til it was time for bed, and Ashleigh hasn't cried so far. They are such big girls. Andy and I enjoyed the quietness today. We could actually watch T.V. without it being so high to drown out the girls playing. I am already missing them! but I know thay are in good hands.

On another note, Michelle told us that Hunter is doing really good at band camp this year. He got in the 2nd drum line! His first year she said he was in the 6th, then his second year he was in the 4th and then 2nd this year. He has worked so hard to get to where he is. We are so proud of you Hunter!

Fourth of July

Our weekend was full of fishing and riding in the boat. Andy would wake up at like 4:30 and would start getting the boat and poles ready. He couldn't wait for me and the girls to wake up at 9:00 to go so we would meet him at the lake. Saturday we went to Braunig, Sunday Andy went to Braunig, and Monday we went to Caleveras. The girls wanted to go Sunday and I was going to take them but as we were getting ready to go Andy walked in the door. The girls really love going fishing, but I think we ruined/spoiled them by taking them to those pay as you go ponds cause Ashleigh and Shelby kept asking us when they were going to get a fish and we had to explain to them that lakes are way bigger than the ponds and that there is a lot more places for the fish to go so we had to find them. The poor girls didn't catch anything. The wind was way too strong on Sat. and on Mon. they weren't biting. Oh well, we got to ride in the boat for a bit and just enjoy it. As we were taking a joy ride Mon. the boat suddenly stalled and wouldn't idle down. We couldn't tell what was wrong, but when we got it loaded on the trailer Andy took a look at it and saw that one of the spark plug wires had come off. All we were thinking about was having to pay someone to work on it and how much money it was going to cost, Thank goodness it was just a spark plug wire! Unfortunately for me I was the only one that got sunburned! Andy has been giving me hell for it, but he will get a sunburn someday and when he does I will give him heck back. Alexus is getting so dark! It is hard to believe how dark she is getting. Shelby and Alissa just got a lil tan. Andy told Ashleigh she was just a lil whitey. She told him nuuh. When I asked her what color she was she told me she was Peach and not white. She is so funny! I hope you all had wonderful time celebrating the birth of our country. I know we sure did have a wonderful weekend.

The girls got to go for their second boat ride today and they had a BLAST! All you could hear was them screaming for Andy to go faster even though he was already going as fast as he could. They got so upset when they didn't get to stay out as long as they wanted. It was starting to lightning in the distance and we didn't want to take a chance. Oh well, we will have plenty of time to play in the water! While we were there we replaced the boards on the trailer and that was a job since the brackets were bent. Seats!

I got the first seat covered today, and if I do say so myself it doesn't look too shabby. I only had enough time to get one done today because we were running around town getting the foam and a few other things we needed. I put the last bolt in at 10:58p.m. Exactly 2 minutes before I had to get Andy up for work. I didn't get a great picture, but I did get one to show you all.

Here are a few updated photos of the boat. We still have a little carpet work and seat work, but hopefully by this weekend we will have them done. We took it out for the first time yesterday and Andy had a lil tuning to do but hopefully when he gets back from the lake tonight he will have good news and will have it all tuned.

Father's Days

Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers in my life. My dad has always worked so hard to give us what we need and provide for us selflessly. My PaPa Beshirs, and PaPa Avance for always playing with us and for always being there for my mom and dad. Papaw for raising my mother in law. My Father-in-Law for raising a great son and for always treating me like I was part of the family even before Andy and I got married. Granddad for giving all of himself to our Country and for raising an amazing son, and for always treating me like family. We love and miss you so much!. And of course Andy for always making sure our kids and I have what we need, protecting our Country, and for sticking with me through the good and bad. I LOVE you all so very much.

Boating Fun!!!

We bought a boat on Friday, and Andy started taking it apart before I got the before pictures taken, but you can still see what it looks like. He has been working on it the past few days. We are redoing the carpet and the seats. We still have to get the foam for the seats, but that won't take long to get together. We are going to have so much fun with the girls this summer!

Fishing

Wow I am so worn out. I am already ready for bed and it is only 5:45pm. We took the girls fishing this morning, and they caught 26lbs 4oz worth. Ashleigh caught the biggest weighing 3lbs. 12oz. She was so proud of it. She had to call everyone and tell the how huuge her fish was. She is such a goober. We went to WalMart as soon as we were done and got her an 8x10 of it. We are going to go fishing again tomorrow morning. We went to Hondo Creek Catfish Pond today and tomorrow we are going to try Camp Bullis. Hope you all have as great of a weekend as we are having. We haven't spent this much family time in a LONG time. :)

Crafty mood

I was in a crafty mood and made a couple bow holders last night and a couple this morning. The ones I made last night are made with canvas covered with material, and the ones I made this morning are made from old frames. I think I like the ones made from old frames the best. I thought making some the other day and didn't get around to it, but was in a crafty mood last night and woke up in one this morning so needless to say I really need to figure out what I am going to do with all these bows, and bow holders. I need to call the flea market and see how much a booth is like I was going to do a few weeks ago. I need some imput from some kids to see what they like best. Mine are always saying they like them all but don't tell me which they like best.
