Overtime/Homeschool

Andy is working overtime today. He went in at 7 this morning and will not be off til 7 tonight. Eww :( I am hoping it isn't too bad. The girls and I went to ChuckECheese last night while Andy went and played golf. They had a blast. They went to sleep without us having to get onto them. Wow I don't remember the last time that happened. Andy said he could tell it had been a while since he had played cause he def didn't play as well as he used to. He said it wasn't bad but wasn't good either lol. I know I sure was wore out from chasing 4 girls and trying to keep them close enough to me so I could still see them yet let them play the games they wanted to.
On another note, I am thinking about home schooling the girls if Andy gets the job he put in for. We keep having issues with the school, and they refuse to resolve them. On Tuesday a girl threatened to kill Alexus and Shelby with a knife on the bus, and the bus driver ignored them and told them to be quiet and sit down. I called the vice principal as soon as they told me what happened, and she said she would look into it and resolve it. After I called her I called one of the supervisors over the bus drivers, and she said she would talk to him, and get him to write the report and would contact me to let me know he got the report done. Yesterday before I went to work I tried to contact them to see what they decided would be the appropriate punishment and the vice principal was going to be out of her office til that afternoon, and when I asked to talk to the principal they said she was in meetings so she was unavailable. When I tried to contact the lady supervisor over the bus drivers I got no answer, and when I asked to leave her a voice mail there was noone on the list by that name. Needless to say I was beyond pissed cause my children do not feel safe on the bus or at school. Yesterday afternoon the principal called and asked Andy why we did not ask to speek to her, and he told her that we had asked to speek to her and the receptionist said she was in meetings. She told him we were liars and that she was standing by her when we asked for the parent teacher liason. Andy told her we were not liars and that the first time I called the school I wasked for the vice principal, the second time I called I asked for her (the principal), and the third time I called I asked for the parent/teacher liason. The liason tried to help me but the person I needed to talk to was going to be out til later that afternoon, and so I left her a message ,but she never called me back either so hopefully she will on Monday. Either way I called the police non emergency number and asked the lady dispatcher what she suggested I do and she said I should file a threat report. A nice policeman came and took my reort and asked if I knew where the girl lived and of course I did so I showed him and he went to talk to her parents to see if he could get it settled. I feel bad about having to call the police, but I do want my kids to feel safe on the bus and at school, and if calling the police does that then it is worth it. I hate calling on a 6yr old, but she has to know that it is NOT right to threaten someone like she did. While Andy was on the phone with their principal she said it was not the bus drivers responsability to keep the kids safe. It was the kids responsability to be safe and stay sitted. OMG are you kidding me?! She said he was strictly there to drive them to and from school. NO ma'am they are the adult! Not the kids!
So if you know of a good home school program please let me know. milsig

Chief's Choice Award

Today Andy was awarded the Chiefs' Choice Award for the month of February 2010. He is the first in his section to receive one. I am so proud to call him my husband. He gives so much of himself to whatever he is involved in. He was chosen because he was brave enough to throw himself in front of a fellow worker that was falling from the top of three flights of stairs. If Andy hadn't gotten in the doorway to brace himself to stop him I don't know where the man would be today. Probably either hurt really bad or even dead. I don't know how he managed to get the strength to stop him, maybe adrenaline, maybe help from above. Either way I am glad they didn't have to tell his family that he had fallen and gotten hurt really bad or that he would never be home again. Here are a few pictures of his awards. He received an award certificate, and two coins. One coin was from the Command Chief Master Sergeant (highest enlisted person in AF Reserve Command) and the other was from his Squadron Chiefs' Group. He could explain this award better than I can of course, but I just wanted to show you what the Air Force gave him for his dedication.
BTW, did I mention that he is the first in his Squadron to receive one of these awards? Yep! We are a little proud ourselves!

Hopefully this will explain why I use the signature I use on here. Andy is a wonderful man, husband, father, and soldier and I want to show just how proud we are of him!

Explore UT

Alexus went on her first GT field trip this weekend. She went to UT-Austin, and got to explore the university. She got to meed the cheerleaders, take a picture with them, meet Bevo, and see the field. She got to do other things but those were what she was most excited about. She has now decided she is going to go to UT and be a cheerleader! Hook'Em Horns! Andy let her pick out something from their campus store and she choose a foam finger. OMG talk about huge! They weren't kidding when they said ALL things are bigger in Texas. You will be saying the same thing when you see this thing. Just wanted to update ya on what went on this weekend. Love ya all, and hope you have a great week.

Migraines

Migraines seem to be a more and more common thing in our house here lately. We think Alexus might be having them now. She started out just having headaches every now and then, but then tylenol started not working. We would meet her at the bus stop after school with her crying and her balling up and not wanting to move. After the nurse sent her back to class several times without calling me I made her an appointment with her doctor so that we can get her some medicine to help her and so I can get a document to show her so she will call me when Alexus comes to her with a headache. I hate her having to go through this mess. I have to keep a headache diary for a few weeks. The diary will just have when her headache starts, how long it last, what she ate, and if she did a lot of excercise that day. Hopefully we can figure out what is triguring them. /crosses my fingers. milsig

Today Andy and I had to go buy a new oven. Ours went out the other night. Andy went to cook himself some food, and smelled smoke when he looked in the kitchen he saw that the smoke was coming from the oven. When he opened it there was flames in it. Yikes! We got a really good deal on the one we got. Normally it sold for $600 and we got it for $300. Yay! Also while we were at Sears we looked at smokers for Andy. They had one that was originally $200 on clearance, but since it was the display and they didn't have the owners manual they knocked another 10% off for us! So we got it for $125. Andy was so happy. He saw the one my mom got for my dad and wanted one ever since. Hope you all have as good of a day as we ended up having. Love you all!milsig

10 year Anniversary!

I can't believe our 10year anniversary is next Friday. We have been together almost 13years! We have had a GREAT 10 years together and I CANNOT wait to see what the next 10years will hold, then the 10 after that, and after that, etc. We have had to make some hard decisions during this time, but I do believe that we made the right ones. We made the decision to join the Air Force, have our beautiful girls, buy a home for our kids, live in San Antonio so our kids can see our family more. We have had our hard times, but we have worked through them. I think that a marriage has to have it's ups and downs in order for people to rely on each other and show that they will be there for the other. Andy is amazing man who has given his everything. He works so many long hours, goes on long trips if needed, and doesn't complain cause it is part of his job. Unfortunately we don't get to see each other as much as we would like, but we make these sacrifices so our kids can have a better life. I love you all, and miss you all A LOT.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ANDY! I LOVE YOU!

Update

Went to doctor today and got some new migraine medicine. Hopefully it will work. I have yet to fully get rid of it. Andy will find out what his doctor wants him to do about his knee when he goes back on the 10th. Hopefully he will not have to have surgery. Either way it doesn't look like very nice options. Hope you all have a great weekend. Love and miss you all.milsig

Spelling Bee

Alexus did really well. She got 8th place today! She definately improved from last years 16th. She said next year is definately the year she is going to get a trophy. She only has three more places to go since the first 5 places get a trophy. There is another spelling bee coming up. It is one that doesn't have a list, it is strictly words from the dictionary. :( She still wants to do it so hopefully we can find out which dictionary it is from and use it to study. :) Wish us luck. hehe Hope you all had a great day. We love and miss you all. milsig

Our visit to Kansas

Our beautiful daughters!

Alexus Gail

Shelby Elise

Ashleigh Renee

Alissa Rachelle

This year we traveled to Kansas to see my father-in-law and family, and then into Paris to see all our family. We had a great time. We all needed it. It was a good get away. The girls got WAY to much for Christmas this year. Everyone spoiled them. Alexus and Shelby got Nintendo DS's and a whole lot of games to go with them. Ashleigh got a Barbie jeep abd babies, and Alissa got a four wheeler and babies. I wish we could spend more time with our family. We will eventually end up closer to them one of these days. When we do I have a feeling they will be even more spoiled cause they will actually be able to spend the night with them. Here are a few pictures of our stay in Kansas. The girls got to spend Christmas with their Geegee, Poppie, Granny-T, Uncle Dusty, and Uncle Jordan. Hopefully this year we will get to spend Christmas with everyone in Paris. I have to put the other pictures on my computer, and when I do I will post them.

That is right! Alexus got 1st place in the Spelling Bee today. She will be moving on to the District Spelling Bee in mid Jan. Means a lot of studying over the holidays! We are so proud of her she is really doing good in school this year. Her goal was to get 1st place at the school one so I asked her what her goal was for district, and she said 1st! Wish her LUCK!

Update

I had to take Alissa ans Ashleigh to the doctor yesterday. Alissa has bulging ear infections. We knew she had double infections, but we didn't know they were as bad as they were. He took her off Amoxicillin and put her on Omnicef cause he said with as bad as they are the Amoxicillin would probably not work. I rather know that the medicine she takes is going to work and not have to worry about her feeling so icky. While we were there he gave her a shot of anti-biotics. When she woke up early this morning she wasn't hot. Yay! So we will see how she feels in a bit. When he was checking Ashleigh out he said that her ears were clear, and that her throat was a lil pink, but that was it. There was no clear signs of what was making her feel so sick. He did a strep throat test, but he doesn't think it is it, but wanted to make sure. He told me to continue her on Tylenol, and Motrin, rotating them. I hope she starts feeling better cause all they have wanted to do is lay around and sleep or cry.
Oh btw, Alexus has her Spelling Bee today so please pray that she does good. She is so determined to make it to district this year, and she wants to do better than she did last year. She is such a focused little girl, and loves to read and spell. I will let you all know how she does. milsig

No Sleep

No sleep is really starting to get to me. I had to take Alissa to the emergency room the other night cause she wouldn't eat, drink or anything and had a high temp. I didn't get home til a lil after 3am. They said she had double ear infections. When I got home Andy told me that Ashleigh had a high temp now too. When Ashleigh is not feeling well she doen't sleep well. She wakes up crying and yelling. I am taking Ashleigh to the doctor today cause we can't get her temp down. She is eating and drinking atleast. Alissa is going in at the same time cause her temp is still too high. They both have been at 101 under their arms so after you add the degree to it they are really at 102. :( I hate when the kids are suck cause you don't know what to do for them. I wish I had a wand I could wave and it all be gone, but as we all know I am not a witch. hehe Please pray that they start feeling better cause we are supposed to leave this weekend for Christmas. milsig

Can't win for loosing:(

Well, I had to take Alissa to the hospital last night. She had a temp yesterday, and we couldn't get rid of it, and she refused to eat or drink. They told me she has double ear infections. Shelby just finished her medication for hers and now poor Alissa has them. Noone is feeling well in our house. I am wore out. I wish there was a magic wand I could use to get them to feeling well.milsig

Ear Infection

Shelby has an ear infection. While we were at her appointment today they all got their H1N1 mist/shots and their regular flu shots. Hopefully they don't get sick cause that would make a really bad weekend for Andy. I have to work so he would be here by himself with sick kids. They didn't get sick from the flu shots last year, but Alexus, Shelby and Ashleigh all got the nasal mist :( which is a live virus. Wish us luck, we may need it. milsig

Ears

Looks like I will be taking Shelby to the doctor. She told us the other day that her ear was hurting, but she told us the next day that they were no longer hurting so I just figured she slept on it wrong. This morning she work up with puss coming out of her ears. I just hope her tubes are still in place and that they don't need replcing again. Please pray that they are fine. milsig
